Let simple language do the work

You do not need a perfect line. Use the words you would normally say, name one genuine reason you enjoy them, and make the invitation easy to accept or decline.

Confidence here means tolerating an honest answer—not pretending you cannot be hurt.

Examples

Three ways the words can begin

01

“I like being around you, and I would love to take you out if you are interested.”

02

“I have started to like you as more than a friend. I wanted to say it plainly instead of hinting around it.”

03

“I think you are wonderful, and I am interested in seeing where this could go. No pressure if you do not feel the same.”

Questions

Do I need to explain why I like them?

One specific reason can make the message feel real, but a long list can feel like pressure. Keep the center of the message on your feeling and invitation.

Should I use the word love?

Use language proportionate to the relationship. If the connection is new, “I like you” or “I am interested in you” is usually clearer and easier to receive.
